Various renders and experiments done in POV-Ray and MegaPOV ...

tachometer

Tachometer

Key visual for an invitation card. The soft highlight on the glass cover was actually done in Photoshop, which was easier to adjust than dealing with light sources.

teahouse

Teahouse

A just for fun project. The teahouse was modelled in Meshwork and exported to POV-Ray. Nothing special, but hey I'm just a beginner. The tree and bushes were made using the MakeTree macro by Gilles Tran. Can't remember from whom I took the sky texture, sorry.

katana and wakizashi

Katana and Wakizashi

The first work I would call "finished" ... okay there still could be a lot of improvements. I basically did this to learn more about CSG operations in POV-Ray and how to model objects using only basic shapes.

wrecked spaceship

Wrecked spaceship

This should have become an entry for the IRTC round "Fog". Those light blotches are caused by wrong radiosity settings. However, they somehow add to the atmosphere. But too many pipes took up too much time and I didn't even put the fog in and so I missed the deadline ;)

studio-lighting

Studio lighting

I read an interesting article about studio lighting setup for Maya on www.computerarts.co.uk. So I tried to do it in POV-Ray. It didn't turn out right and during the next few days I learned a lot about light and physics and ... how not to do it.

cloister

Cloister

This should have become a concept work – well, you can't see the concept in it yet ;) but no time for a time consuming hobby right now. By the way ... did I say I need a faster computer?
